The preschool is established to serve children 3 to 6 years of age. Preschool is available by enrollment Monday through Friday. Our programs are summarized below. You can click on a program to get more information. Contact us for more details.
The goal of this program is to get your child ready both socially and academically for kindergarten. Since this class meets four consecutive days (Monday through Thursday), we have the advantage of carrying over projects and themes day to day. Academic concepts are introduced around themes. We will review numbers, shapes and colors at the beginning of the school year and have a “letter” of the week throughout the year. We place much emphasis on social skills and how each child functions in a group. All the students turn 5 by January 31 and have had at least one year of preschool.
The Pre-K program is designed to prepare a child for kindergarten. The classes revolve around units related to the alphabet. Work is focused on fine and gross motor skills, language, pre-reading skills including phonics, math, science, art and music. The classes attend field trips and special events. Thematic programs are conducted by a variety of guest visitors. The Pre-K (9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) class allows extra time for curriculum enhancement, one on one enrichment and social skills.
The 3’s program is focused on school readiness skills such as getting along with others, group interaction and taking instructions from adults other than parents. The curriculum is based on age appropriate thematic units which integrate colors, shapes and numbers.
This program extends 3’s preschool hours to 1:00 p.m. This is to help parents coordinate Parent’s Day Out (PDO) and preschool pick-ups.
